Full Moon in Leo 2021

Today’s full moon in Leo brings us back to a sense of personal accountability. While the Sun is conjunct Jupiter we are in a moment of profound expansion, reverberating the energy of the Great Conjunction, but square Mars and Lilith in Taurus, there is so much conflict, so much anger and repressed energy that wants to be seen. Mars and Lilith together create a certain type of rage that is associated with releasing the bind of oppression, releasing the fear that convinces us that escape is the only way out of our own discomfort or pain. So we have to walk through many fears, and the light of Jupiter, although full of hope and good feelings, can dominate and override this fact at times. With Mars and Lilith conjunct in Taurus, the bright Aquarian Jupiterian future is not possible without getting us out of our comfort zones. Taurus, more than any other sign will stay in miserable circumstances to avoid change, to avoid having to go inside and do the deep inner work of letting go of stuff, whether its literal stuff or spiritual/emotional stuff. The greatest lesson here is realizing that there must always be sacrifice if you are asking for change. If you are willing to change nothing or let go of any attachments, nothing will change. The image I have is of a hungry dog that has its food taken away. It may bite, even if the food it’s eating is unhealthy. The energy of the full moon in Leo is very high and powerful. Many fixed signs give this full moon a lot of weight. If we can speak gently to ourselves and others while we learn to let go of unhealthy habits instead of steamrolling on a carriage of love and light, we may just be able to make space for new energy to thrive and replace old beliefs/habits/policies. Today Venus is also conjunct Pluto in Capricorn, which can bring a passionate attachment to our values and relationships, and a great fear of loss. When Pluto works with Venus, he goes to work on revealing these fears, and making us aware of the cycles of change that must exist within a relationship in order to keep it vital. Just as growing individuals are always changing, so are relationships rooted in expansion and not just security. Being that it is a full moon in Leo, today is one of the best times of the year to dive into creative work, purposefully or spontaneously. Sing, dance, draw or express yourself however you see fit. Loudly. Release all of it in doing so.
